New Toy: Update to previous post

This camera is BA (that's short for bad-ass, get with the lingo). Check out the picture below (click on it to launch it into a new window at full size). That's a shot of the moon, tonight, at 48x digital zoom (12 optical with 4x digital thereafter). Awesome!

New Toy: The Canon S2 IS Digital Camera

After many years of loyal and wonderful service my Canon PowerShot A5 Zoom (left) will retire and hand the torch of primary photographic duties to the newly purchased and appointed Canon PowerShot S2 IS (below, right).

The A5 was purchased in 1999 and logged well over 12,000 shots over even many more miles of travel. Every photo in my portfolio, prior to this day, was taken with that device. I salute you, A5 Zoom, and will forever be grateful.

Below is a Flash sequence of the inaugural shot captured with the S2 IS. It was in the parking lot of Best Buy in Kennesaw, GA, near sunset and after a clearing storm. I adjusted the image for obstacles, contrast and then produced a reflection effect to the images final title: "The Divine Spark"

In Class: I should be paying attention (but I'm not)

Yup. At 12:22 a.m. I turned 27. My name is not in fact Timmy but I liked the cake so I stole the photo. :-)

KSU: El Presidente Nuevo!

I have just recently been employed by Kennesaw State University as an Information Technology Instructor (which, apparently, is technically called a "Systems Support Specialist" -go figure).

The university has inaugurated a new president, Dr. Daniel S. Papp, today. The speeches (including his) were actually good which is rare, at least in my experience of many graduation and invocation ceremonies.

He's actually a very cool guy with a matching and interesting history of work to include being published several times as well as time spent in the very Aerospace Doctrine Center that my father created and started while at Maxwell, AFB in Alabama and his son is a new Air Force fighter pilot (yup, small world).
